– “Love’s Reflective Light” by Mike Gates –
Full moon, so bright, a beacon illuminating the sky. From dusk to dawn, in the evening, at midnight into early morning, a nightlight that burns till a new sunrise appears.
Serene atmosphere, enthralled, it calms all my thoughts, set adrift or maybe lost, on the sea of tranquility. A lunar landing of wonder, moonlit muse, imagination dives deep like craters, igniting a perpetual creative fuse.
Radiant beauty on display, beaming and glows, a celestial work of art, its canvas exposed, uncovered by clouds and darkness, among millions of stars it steals the show, commanding attention, a brilliant sight for all to behold.
Gaze upon it if you dare, but only for a moment, with the blink of an eye, it slowing disappears before it is made new again. A change of lunar cycles and phases, like seasons that ebb and flow, why must everything we love eventually fade away, yet not always return the same?
A face on the surface, laughing, smiling, looking back at me, staring, it follows me wherever I go, no longer feel all alone. Just like a sailor on an open ocean, navigating through still waters or tempests that rage, the moon becomes a soul’s companion, often a devoted friend.
Reflection from the Sun to give off its light, a luminescent illusion that engulfs this vast ball of rock. Every crevasse revealed, nothing is hidden, a clarity in plain sight, as dust particles dance in the air with shimmers of glitter and glam. Reflective rays of light, shining down to blanket the earth.
A reminder to me when life tends to grow cold, goes dim, loses luster, or feels grim. We too are reflective, from the reflection of the SON. Piercing the darkness, to guide us throughout the night, our one and only true light, His name is Jesus, the risen savior, He is the living Christ!
2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV – 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
