Jesus said, “It is finished!”, but it wasn’t the end!

– John 19:28-30 NKJV – 28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

When Jesus died on the cross, He said, “it is finished”, but it wasn’t the end! Just that part of His ministry was finished, and then 3 days later, there was a new beginning. From salvation to resurrection power!

John 11:24-27 NKJV – 24 Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

Despite the struggles and hardships, we face in life, it is not over till God says it is over! We all go through seasons in our life. One season might be hard but there is always another season that is great. One chapter is finished but then we always start a new one. No matter what struggles we encounter along the way, things will and do get better. Sometimes the struggles seem like they will never end, but eventually they do get better. Be encouraged, stand firm, and increase your faith.

2 Corinthians 1:20-22 NKJV – 20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. 21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

Storms never last forever and always remember that even on the worst of stormy weather, there’s always a bright sun that is above those dark clouds just waiting to pierce the darkness!

Malachi 4:2-3 NKJV – 2 But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. 3 You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the Lord of hosts.

Luke 8:23-25 (NKJV) But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!”

Life at times can seem like a roller coaster ride with many ups, downs, twists and turns. But when the ride is done, we’re ready to do it again! Through it all serving God can be quite the adventure, and thankfully the journey never ends! It is not over till God says it is over! A chapter in your life may have finished, but it is not the end! Jesus’ death on the cross, He died for our sins so that we could live for all eternity with Him! Through Jesus, your story never has to end! Call upon Jesus, invite Him into your heart, repent of your sins, and live fully for Him!
